Huntington Beach, CA-It’s finally here, the day we have been waiting for over 5 years, the culmination of a struggle to bring clean air, healthy learning conditions, and environmental justice to the children of Oak View. This gym project was made possible by the work of the community, teachers, Ocean View School District Board of Trustees, the AQMD, and our pro bono legal counsel at Connor, Fletcher and Hendenkamp. We were a team and got this done. Republic Services ultimately settled with the school district and we negotiated this beautiful gym to shelter the children for lunchtime and playtime.
