Ocean View Board of Trustees Votes Unanimously To Support YES on A & B

Huntington Beach, CA-Tonight, the Ocean View Board of Trustees voted to affirm that public libraries are vital educational resources that support literacy, research, civic engagement, and equitable learning opportunities for community members. Huntington Beach libraries are frequented by Ocean View School District students, families, and educators. Ensuring continued public operation and professional integrity is essential to sustaining access to inclusive, high-quality educational materials and services. Supporting these measures aligns with the District’s mission to foster academic achievement and equitable access to resources. Defending professional decision-making in public education spaces is critical. We believe that we must preserve transparency and community trust in the public management of vital learning institutions. We must protect the availability of diverse perspectives and culturally responsive materials. Therefore, in a unanimous 5-0 vote, Resolution No. 27:2425 (Exhibit A) was passed. The resolution outlines the reasons that our Ocean View School District Board supports the passage of Measure A and Measure B on the June 10, 2025 special election ballot.
