OVSD News-Circle View Elementary Hosts ‘Be A Buddy, Not A Bully’ Activities and Assembly

Huntington Beach, CA- Circle View School is full of buddies, who are well-equipped with the tools and strategies to prevent bullying at their school and in their lives. October is National Bullying Prevention Month, so to kick it off, Circle View chose to participate in a "Buddy Bench" assembly. As part of the assembly, students learned what it means to be a buddy instead of a bully. They reviewed what it feels like to “fill a bucket” and make others feel good through kindness. Circle View Eagles also practiced strategies to prevent bullying, such as “stop, walk, talk.” Upper grade students discussed digital citizenship, a digital footprint, how to respect privacy, and how to prevent cyber-bullying. We’re proud of our schools for promoting this important anti-bullying message in October and throughout the year.
